Creativity is necessary in education, and it can be taught! It’s all in how you teach, not what you teach. Reconnect with your playful side and strengthen your students’ understanding of themselves, others, and the concepts you’ve been teaching. Embodied thinking, patterning, perceiving are just a few of the tools along the way to a creatively conscious classroom. Arts and sciences go hand in hand. Teaching has never been so exciting when you are empathizing with your studnets. Is this education inspiring? I hear. I feel. I smell. I see. I taste. I move. I should find these senses in my lessons. Visuals, models, and abstracts fill up our days to provide students with a different way of viewing a concept. The more ways the better! In order to prepare our students for the future, they must be ready to deal with the unexpected. Take risks. Engage and surprise your students. They will thank you sooner than later. You say you’re not creative? How can I teach my students? Well, I believe that’s just not the case. You’re welcome to visit my classroom, for it’s just the place.
