How can technology, content and pedagogy work hand-in-hand to provide the most meaningful learning experiences for our students? How can abstract ideas gain solid ground to support student understanding? There are many ways to answer these questions, and teachers around the world are eager to play around with tools themselves to see if and how they will impact their students' development. One way students have been collaborating and gaining deeper understanding in subject areas is through teacher-planned assessment within Minecraft. So, I made another attempt within the Minecraft flatland -- where everything was fair-game -- buildling, destroying (accidentally), and creativity! I'm not so sure they should have given me such power, but I made it out without too many casualties. My assessment covers math concepts, specifically fractions, and you can learn more about my assessment FOR learning in the following screencast.
